Scottish Hotel:

Design a hotel appropriate for a progressive Scottish tourism market.

This is the question being answered by our year 3 students, working with advice from Quality Advisors from VisitScotland’s Quality and Standards department.

Using two existing sites, the Loch Fyne Hotel, Inveraray, and the Euro Hostel, Glasgow, our students are being asked to consider designing either a rural or urban hotel expressing a fresh and innovative take on the diversity of Scottish culture and heritage.

Working with Quality Advisors they will comply with the criteria requirements of the VisitScotland Quality Assurance Scheme which would achieve a star award of three or five stars.

The design proposals will be exhibited at the VisitScotland Expo 2010, Scotland’s only flagship business to business event for the travel trade that is entirely Scottish.
